Description

Public Procurement is a strategic lever to achieve the global objectives of sustainability.Sustainable impact in Green Public Procurement (GPP) is a relevant challenge to be betterexplored in global value chains (GVCs) at a scientific level.The aim of the research project is to develop a model that synthesizes approaches andmechanisms for Italian and European Public Administrations that can support GPP as asustainable tool in the selection of suppliers in global supply chains. Then identify tools forimplementing and monitoring GPP by exploring defined processes of standards, andcertifications. Therefore, in the actions that are involving companies towards sustainabletransformation, also towards a new B Corp business model. The methodology used is basedon a first part of an analysis of the literature, also with the identification of best practicesglobally and then a qualitative-quantitative approach

Research team and environment

Dr. Andrea Appolloni is Associate Professor in Operations Management and Sustainability at Tor Vergata University in Rome, Italy. In the same University he completed his Ph.D in Business Administration. He is Permanent Visiting Fellow at Cranfield University (UK) and Research Associate at the Italian Research Council. His teaching areas focused on Operations, Supply Chain and Procurement Management and Sustainability courses at undergratuate and executive level. He was visiting in several Universities in the last years
