A week of passion, research, and celebration as PhD students successfully defend their work and look ahead to new opportunities
From January 24–27, 2025, IUSS Pavia hosted the final defenses for the 37th cycle of the PhD in Sustainable Development and Climate Change (PhD-SDC), marking a major milestone in the academic journeys of students from all curriculum units.
Over four days, candidates passionately presented their research, sparking rich discussions across a wide range of timely and impactful topics. The event was charged with emotion and inspiration, as years of dedication and effort culminated in success.
Following the formal sessions, students and faculty came together to celebrate in style—raising a toast to both the achievements of the moment and the promise of what lies ahead.
