A welcome to the PhD candidates of the 38th cycle and a kick-off meeting of the new research programme.
On January 25th, a PhD SDC kick-off meeting will take place in the historical “Teatro Fracchini” in Pavia, where the PhD candidates of the 38th cycle will be welcomed by the PhD SDC and the PhD candidates of the 37th cycle.
This compelling event will feature a brief overview of the PhD SDC and scientific challenges, as well as presentations related to the research and communications activities from 2nd year candidates. The role of universities in the sustainability challenge will be discussed, along with interesting presentations on the concept of “Net Zero” from Anna Pirani of the IPCC, as well sustainable mobility systems, enterprises, energy resilience, and circular economy from various professors and partners within our extensive network.
We will wrap up the day with a roundtable discussion and two Oxford Style Debates featuring professors and PhD candidates on the topics of “Net zero transition policies and inequality” as well as “Sustainable solutions for the energy transition”
