PhD students from the 40th Cycle of the SDC program gather to explore sustainable energy and environmental solutions through lectures, discussions, and collaborative activities
From April 4–7, 2025, the University of Pisa welcomed PhD students for the CU2 (Circular Economy and Energy Transition) in-person event, part of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change (SDC) PhD program. This immersive experience offered participants from the 40th Cycle a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of the circular economy and its role in the global energy transition.
Through a series of interactive lectures, outdoor activities, and group discussions, students explored the economic implications of circular economy models and assessed the benefits and limitations of various energy sources, including wind, photovoltaic (PV), and nuclear power.
The program encouraged critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving, allowing participants to engage with pressing sustainability challenges and propose innovative ideas for the future of energy.
