About me

My main interests are contemporary young adult literature and the recent waves of ecocriticism, especially in relation to the posthuman and cognitive dimension. I have recently joined the Nature in Children’s Literature and Culture research group (https://www.hvl.no/en/research/group/nachilit/) and I’m part of the European Children’s Literature Research Network.

My research

My research is based on the key concept that contemporary (young adult) literature can play a crucial role in raising awareness on sustainability and the climate crisis, with a special focus on the circumpolar North and the Arctic region. My aim is to emphasize the intrinsic value of the interrelationships between humans and non-humans, and of the peculiar inanimate landscape, such as icy landscapes and the references connected to ice melting.
