About me

Since my adolescence, I have been fascinated by the unknown world of the nervous system. This passion has led me to begin an academic career focused on this topic. First, I wrote a master degree thesis on the diagnostic strategies for the detection of anti-neural antibodies in paraneoplastic syndromes and, then, I have been involved in a project with the aim of developing a new therapeutic approach to improve the neuromuscular symptoms in ALS.

My research

Organoids are a new, revolutionary technology that allows to study in vitro the anatomy and physiology of any developing organ in 3D. These cultures are generated from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) and allow to study the complexity of any organ in a new sustainable way. The aim of my project is to study potential pathological mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases with this 3D brain model, contributing to the development of SDG3.
