About me

Sahba is an award-winning space researcher. She has worked with the German Aerospace Centre on robotics research and the European Space Agency on environmental impacts of space activities. She is the founder of the Jordan Space Research Initiative, and co-lead of the Ethics & Human Rights and Space for Climate Action groups in the Space Generation Advisory Council. Her goal is to foster a more ethical and sustainable future on Earth and in space.

My research

The state of our planet shows the need for a widespread shift in mentality and relationship with Nature. One phenomenon which can foster this change is the Overview Effect, described by astronauts as a shift in consciousness when seeing the Earth from space, making them more aware of environmental and social justice. The aim of this research is to assess the impact of simulating this experience with VR in order to drive sustainable behaviour. https://www.sahba.space/
