Building and Architectural Engineering
Barbara Maria Frigione is a PhD student in urban planning. After graduating in Building Engineering/Architecture (MSc), she worked as a young research assistant and collaborated with the University Research and Documentation Centre for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. She currently studies the role of non-state actors to identify effective paths to guide urban energy transition through society involvement and empowerment.
Energy transitions aren’t merely about swapping fuels and changing technologies, they are driven by and remake societies in fundamental ways. Through literature review and practice-based experiences, my research aims at understanding which paths are taken by society to participate in urban energy transition and whether there are drivers and barriers, to identify the most effective participatory approaches to guide urban energy transition.
