Civil Engineer
After studying Classics at high school, I got my degree in civil engineering, gaining knowledge on design technologies and analysis methods of buildings in seismic conditions. I spent one year in Alicante (Spain) by taking part in the Erasmus+ program and worked on seismic vulnerability of racks as a research fellow. My greater ambition is to develop multidisciplinary skills and knowledge to help Institutions shape a science-based governance.
The building and construction sector is responsible for 36% of final energy use and 39% of energy-related CO2 emissions. Improving structural and energy systems on existing buildings, thus, becomes a valid solution to improve their energy efficiency while increasing people’s safety. An integrated approach will be adopted to develop an innovative method for combining energetic and seismic performance assessment of buildings.
