Physics
I'm a boy who studied physics of complex systems in Turin. Passionate about fluids, environmental physics, machine learning and teaching. I did an Erasmus year in Grenoble (France). I concluded my master with a thesis on climate change studying the EDW phenomenon in the Alps. Thanks to this Phd I moved to Padua. In the future I don't know if I will continue in the academic field or if this didactic component will prevail.
Estimating the frequency of extreme precipitation events is key for developing risk reduction measures in present and future climates. I use Metastatistical Extreme Value Distribution (MEVD) and a recent statistical downscaling technique to compare ocean rainfall observations and satellite-based/model estimates to quantify the improvement achieved through downscaling in high-quantile quantification.
