Agronomist
I graduated in Agricultural Sciences and Technologies at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Piacenza. I dedicated both my bachelor's and master's theses to plant genetics. After the master's degree, I received a scholarship for one year at the Department of Sustainable Crop Production to carry out research on maize for the evaluation of genotypes in a climate change scenario. Then, I started my PhD SDC, 39th cycle.
My PhD project concerns the study of the interaction between maize and its main mycotoxigenic fungi. This research aims to identify maize and fungal key genes and metabolites related to infection and mycotoxin production in different temperature regimes and modelling the multi-pathosystem interaction. To achieve these goals, transcriptomics and metabolomics data will be collected and then analyzed using machine learning tools.
