Chemistry
Extremely keen of inorganic chemistry and catalytic mechanisms, I graduated in Chemistry at the University of Pavia in 2#N/A21. Before that, I had also the enlightening opportunity to work in other laboratories in Europe such as the Bio-Inspired Photonics group led by Prof. Silvia Vignolini (Cambridge University) and the Laboratoire de Reactivité de Surface under the supervision of Dr. Alberto Mezzetti (Sorbonne Université).
My research activity focuses on the design and the characterization of novel materials (mainly carbon nitride and brookite) and interfaces for chemical processes prompted by light. Particular care will be devoted to the photoreduction of CO2 to valuable chemicals and the evolution of H2 from water splitting, but the activation of organic reactions under heterogeneous photocatalytic conditions will be examined as well.
