About me

I graduated in Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Torino. I worked as research fellow for one year at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT@CSFT), on materials synthesis for future supercapacitor applications, able to combine CO₂ capture and energy harvesting. Furthermore, I worked at the development of methods for the characterization of gas diffusion (CO₂, H₂, H₂ mixture) through geological clay samples for underground storage.

My research

The aim of the project is to define an CO₂ separation and capturing method for “hard to abate” sector use. The CO₂ capture is held by fluid mixtures, in particular by Ionic Liquids solution (ILs). I am developing new hydrophobic ILs based on Amino Acids Ionic Liquids (AAILs) to serve as solvents capable to capture CO₂. The study includes characterization and absorption gas tests, using ATR-IR, DSC, NMR, TGA-IR and PVT cell.
