About me

I have a MSc degree in Civil Engineering for Mitigation of Risk from Natural Hazards and during my studies I had the chance to work on a flood risk assessment for cultural heritage in Portugal and in Italy. Given the importance of cultural heritage within local and global communities, I became interested in studying the quantification of the indirect damage related to flood events, going beyond only the quantification of the physical damage.

My research

The aims of my research consists of three key points:to model the inter-dependencies between different elements in an economic network;to develop a comprehensive risk assessment framework that encompasses both direct and indirect economic impacts of floods;to quantify the indirect economic consequences caused by floods. These aims will be achieved through the application of a methodology that leverages network theory and multi-layer networks.
