Computational Quantum Chemistry
Nadjib Rais is a PhD student in “Sustainable Development and Climate Change”. His doctoral project is concerned with the simulation of the atmospheric reactivity of halogenated organic gases by applying computational quantum chemistry and statistical thermodynamics for the goal of disclosing the atmospheric fate of these pollutant gases and to identify possible harmful degradation products, atmospheric sinks, and ultimately atmospheric lifetimes.
The research interests of Nadjib Rais are focused on applying theoretical strategies and protocols for predicting the kinetics and thermodynamics of gas phase chemical reactions and applying them to interesting problems in atmospheric chemistry.
