About me

I am an ecologist with a strong interest in studying species interactions, aquatic ecosystems structure and dynamics. After my Master’s degree, I had the change to focus my research on wildlife conservation and human-nature interactions during two years’ experience at IRSA-CNR in Verbania. With my PhD research I aim to contribute to study how species respond to anthropogenic pollution and the impact of plastic pollution on biodiversity.

My research

My research are focused on two projects which explore distribution, fate, biological interactions and trophic transfer of nano- and microplastics in marine ecosystems, looking at global climate change perspective: I) Plastisphere: the role of plastic pollution in dispersal via rafting of marine species, including alien and invasive species; II) ingestion and transport of nano- and microplastics along trophic chain.
