Economics, International Relations
I graduated in Economics and International Relations from the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and later I obtained a master's degree in Economic Analysis and Policy & Economic Sciences from the EPOG+ Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree. Since then, I engage in research and projects on Ecological Economics topics, with a focus on the Ecological Transition, Macro-financial modeling and the intersection between Economics and Biodiversity.
The Amazon rainforest is vital for Earth's System stability and faces a tipping point at 20-25% deforestation. Economic sectors rely on the Amazon, while their activities drive deforestation at the same time. Using Input-Output analysis, we attempt to identify global sectors involved in this relationship of double materiality with the forest. Results are expected to help formulating sector-specific policies to prevent Amazon's savannization.
